Gratitude on the Move: Lost Hills Teachers Visit Families Across the Community

On November 19th, teachers at Lost Hills stepped outside the traditional meeting room and into the heart of the community. Instead of their usual after-school staff meeting, teachers spent the afternoon visiting the homes of students to personally thank families for their partnership and support.

Each teacher was assigned two students, and together they traveled across the community in two school vans, delivering fresh bread as a small token of appreciation. What followed was an outpouring of warmth; parents welcomed teachers with hugs, stories, and heartfelt words about how much they value the dedication of classroom staff.

Teachers, in turn, were deeply moved by the experience. Many shared that the simple act of knocking on a door and saying “thank you” created powerful moments of connection and renewed purpose.

This community visit was part of a growing effort in Lost Hills to strengthen relationships, foster gratitude, and celebrate the bond between school and home.
