Lost Hills Elementary Celebrates First Annual Grandparents Day

Lost Hills Elementary School recently hosted its first annual Grandparents Day, a heartfelt event that brought generations together to celebrate the love, wisdom, and support that grandparents provide.

The day began with a warm welcome and a delicious breakfast where students shared a meal with their grandparents. Smiles and laughter filled the cafeteria as children proudly introduced their grandparents to classmates and friends. After breakfast, families participated in various activities including art activities and conversations. These simple moments became lasting memories.

One of the highlights of the day came when students had the chance to walk their grandparents into class, giving them the opportunity to meet teachers, see the learning environment, and share in the daily routines that shape their grandchildren’s lives. The experience emphasized how deeply connected the school and community are.

For Veronica Sanchez-Gregory, the school principal, the day carried personal meaning. She shared how her grandmother made a tremendous difference in her life. Her story served as a reminder of the powerful role that grandparents and extended family members play in nurturing, guiding, and encouraging children to thrive.

The event underscored an important truth: the extended community of family is an essential part of student success. By opening their doors to grandparents and honoring their contributions, Lost Hills Elementary celebrated not only the bonds of family but also the school’s commitment to building a strong, supportive community around every child.
